Playing Together Being Together Parent Support Group

Parenting is a hard job that comes with no training. Playing Together Being Together is offering a monthly parent support group/book club to give parents/caregivers a place to come together to vent, ask questions, and be validated. The first meeting will be on September 15, 2021, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, and every third Wednesday of the month thereafter.

The meetings will be run by Melissa Reali and Wanda Frankel.

Melissa, MS Ed, owner of Playing Together Being Together, is a NY State certified educator, former school director, and mom. For 20 years now, Melissa has worked with children ranging in age from birth to 12th grade. During this time she has supported children, parents, and teachers, helping them navigate the tough social-emotional situations that arise.

Wanda, MS Ed, LCSW, is an early childhood specialist who has over 30 years of experience working with children, families, teachers, and administrators in schools and clinical settings. In addition to being a play therapist, former preschool special educator, and parenting coach, Wanda has been an early childhood consultant at various childcare programs throughout NYS for the last 14 years.

Each month we will cover one chapter from the book "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline" by Becky Bailey. Please note, reading the book is not necessary to participate. The book club is just a good excuse to gather together in an environment where you can feel safe to say "I'm a parent and this is hard." Although it is a great resource to have in your hands.
