Sustainable Warwick Zero-Waste Potluck Picnic

Sustainable Warwick invites you to our annual Zero-Waste Potluck Picnic! Wednesday, June 17th at Mountain Lake Park

What's a Zero-Waste Picnic?

Once again, we are encouraging everyone to bring their own place settings (plate, knife, fork, spoon, napkin, cup) and taking them back home after the picnic... leaving no trash for the barrel and less waste for the landfill!

This is a potluck gathering, so please bring a dish to share (appetizer, main dish, salad, desert... whatever pleases you!) and be sure to also bring a beverage.

ALL ARE WELCOME!

Mountain Lake Park
46 Bowen Road
Warwick, NY

Enter the park and bear right up the hill towards the pool and courts.

Wednesday, June 17th
5:00 - 7:30PM

  • 5:00 - Meet us at the Pickleball Courts (see the yellow X on the map below) for an Invasive Plant-Pull! A pair of gardening gloves are recommended.

  • 6:00 - Picnic at the Pavillion by the Pond. (Red X on the map) Parking is at the Pickleball Courts.

Students are encouraged to join us! We’ll identify invasive plants growing in the park and we’ll pull them out so that pollinator-friendly plants can grow and feed the local bees and birds.

In Conversation with Alan Held

Warwick Historical Society Presents: “In Conversation with Alan Held” – A Journey Through Warwick’s Railroading Past

The Historical Society of the Town of Warwick invites the public to a fascinating afternoon of local history with Town of Warwick Deputy Historian Alan Held.

Sunday, May 31st
2:00PM to 4:00PM

A part of our "In Conversation With" series, Alan's engaging presentation will explore the 28 miles of railroad lines that once connected Warwick’s villages and hamlets, shaping the region’s growth, commerce, and daily life. Through a richly illustrated talk featuring historic maps, rare photographs, and compelling then-and-now comparisons, attendees will gain a vivid understanding of the trains, stations, and stories that defined the community.

From rail lines still in operation today to routes abandoned more than a century ago, this program offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the infrastructure that helped build Warwick.

This event follows a previous standing-room-only program, and attendance is expected to be high.
