Free Movie Screening and Discussion - Muckville

Thursday, February 13th

Join us on the second Thursday evening November through March for an informative and entertaining film screening. Discussion to follow the film.

Greenwood Lake, NY, 10925

Chris Pawelski almost ran out of time. As a 4th-generation onion farmer on the post-glacial black dirt of Goshen, NY, Chris is just one of millions of farmers in America facing the unnecessarily Sisyphusian task of earning a living. "Muckville" follows the story of Chris's family farm through time, from the 'Polish wave' of the early 20th century, through the onset of climate change-driven crop failures in the 1990s and subsequent pitfalls of US agriculture policy, and Chris's resulting existential crisis. This short documentary provides rare insight into the ongoing mental health epidemic on American farms, and paints a delicate and emotional portrait of resilience and love amid unbeatable odds. A winner of HUDSY's 2023's Community Content Fund Program. Directed, photographed and edited by Jeff Mertz.

🍽 Enjoy food and drinks while connecting with like-minded community members.

Chris and Eve Pawelski will be joining us and taking your questions after the film. Don’t miss this special evening of education, inspiration, and connection! 🌿

Too Good To Toss! mini: kids

This new Too Good To Toss mini is designed for your convenience! Donations and "shopping" will happen on the same day like a more traditional swap event. Donations will be accepted between 9am and 2pm only, we will be open for shopping until 5pm. This is an indoor event.

As the event name suggests, we will only be accepting/ swapping items for children and babies (roughly 12 and under). We understand that, by nature, kids stuff tends to be a little more "well-loved", still we insist that donations will only be accepted that are clean, in good working order and include all their parts. If a game is missing a piece or a doll is missing a shoe, we kindly ask that you find a different avenue for rehoming your goods.

Please visit wickhamworks.org for full details and for volunteer opportunities.

There is NO Entry or Parking Fee to enter our farm to enjoy the ambiance of our rustic barn!

Our Boo Bar will be serving local beer, wine and cider! Food will be served from our Thunderbird Farms Grill and Fresh Cider Donuts will be made by our very own Donut Shop!

If you are too scared to walk through, it's ok just hang out with our Bootenders at our Boo Bar or play some board games inside the barn! There's nothing scary there just good old fun Halloween Ambiance! We enjoy having company either way!
