“That’s when the ol’ grey….cloud burst!” – the lyric from the Jimmy Harris / Leroy Kirkland song (made famous by Lambert, Hendricks & Ross in 1957) is the name of this Jazz-Funk jam-band style trio working out of the Woodstock area and performing at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park on August 14, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
Featuring Michael Colletti (bass), Neil “Nail” Alexander (keyboards), and Tony Parker (drums), “Cloudburst" gets into some serious long-form jams on classic jazz and funk standards, with a few originals thrown in for extra groovy-ness. They are occasionally joined by special guests on horn and/or guitar, but the vibe is straight-up chill and the grooves are funky.
