Friends of Sterling Forest
The Friends of Sterling Forest is a non-profit organization established to preserve, protect, and foster an appreciation of the natural resources and historical treasures that make up Sterling Forest State Park. The Friends of Sterling Forest helps with the stabilization, restoration, and maintenance of historic buildings and sites within the park such as Southfields Furnace, Sterling Furnace, and Sterling Forge, where the Great Chain across the Hudson River was made, In addition, the Friends of Sterling Forest host lectures, hikes, and special events each month, promoting the park. The public is cordially invited to attend these events free of charge.
